Cosmetic Dental Options in Armidale, NSW

Our Cosmetic dental options include:

Professional Teeth Whitening

Professional teeth whitening in Armidale, NSW, is a popular way to whiten your smile and remedy yellow stains. Our system is designed to produce even results, and we offer in-chair teeth whitening and take-home trays.

Dental Bonding

Dental bonding can hide tooth flaws. Dr Nyepetsi relies on a composite resin material to artistically conceal dental flaws, shape abnormalities, discolouration and small gaps between teeth.

Tooth-Coloured Restorations

Our restorations are always coloured to complement your smile. Whether it’s a simple dental filling or tooth crown, we aim to produce an personalised, discreet restoration.

Dental Veneers

Models and celebrities have used dental veneers for decades, but we offer quality dental veneers in Armidale, NSW, too.

Our veneers are thin shells coloured to the desired shade. Veneers go across the front of your teeth to conceal:

  • Discoloured teeth
  • Misaligned teeth
  • Worn teeth
  • Gummy smiles
  • Slightly crooked teeth
  • Small gaps between teeth
  • Abnormally shaped teeth

Dental Implants

Dental implants are designed to replace missing teeth, root and all. Dental implants can help prevent various concerns, including natural teeth shifting into misalignment and jawbone deterioration, which can cause the lower part of the face the sag.

A dental implant starts with implant post placement, meaning a thin post is surgically implanted in your jaw. This sturdy post adheres to your natural jawbone over several months. Once the jawbone heals, the patient can be fitted with a final restoration to top the implant.

Our dental implants in Armidale, NSW, are designed to support a denture or a dental bridge.

BracesTeeth that were fixed with dental implants

Braces are designed to straighten your teeth but also to improve bite function. For many, it is easier to clean straight teeth, and an aligned bite can help prevent enamel erosion.

We offer tooth-coloured and metal braces in Armidale, NSW.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re considering professional teeth whitening treatments in Armidale, NSW, it starts with an exam by Dr Joseph Nyepetsi if you haven’t been to the dental clinic recently

Teeth bleaching safety decisions may include dental health issues or whether you have restorations. However, a dental health issue or restorations do not necessarily rule out teeth whitening.

If your dentist decides that teeth whitening is a safe option for you, we offer both take-home teeth whitening kits and in-chair teeth whitening at Markham Street Dental or a combination of both.

How Does Teeth Whitening at Markham Street Dental Work?

For take-home teeth whitening, we take an impression of your smile and use this model to create a custom whitening tray that fits your mouth securely. You take this tray and our prescription whitening gel home, and you can bleach your teeth on your time.

While teeth bleaching is usually considered safe under a dentist’s discretion, we don’t recommend over-the-counter bleaching systems. The products can be harsh or abrasive—harming your enamel—and generally, don’t give you the dramatic results usually seen with prescription-strength products. Also, when trays are not custom-designed for your smile, the bleaching products can spill onto your gums and create tooth sensitivity.

Cosmetic Dentistry Technology

Primescan digital impressions

Primescan®

Traditionally when a client needs a crown, denture, orthodontic retainers or implant tooth, the dentist will have to take impressions (i.e., moulds of the teeth) for these procedures. The Primescan® is used to scan the teeth to produce a digital impression which can now be shared with a dental technician to make a dental prosthesis. The use of digital impressions aims to eliminate discomforts that are accompanied by traditional impressions, such as bad taste from materials, gagging from materials that can potentially run into the throat and a possible need to repeat the impressions if the quality is deemed unsatisfactory. The impressions aim to provide a quick digital of impressions in a matter of minutes.

Cerec prime mill

CEREC Same-Day Restorations

CEREC Primemill® is a milling solution designed to make dental restoration in a single visit. These include the making of crowns, fillings and dental bridges. Traditionally, a client would come to see their dentist, and if they needed a crown, bridge or ceramic filling. Next, they would arrange an appointment to prepare the tooth for a crown and have the moulds taken. The moulds would then be sent to the technician to make a crown or ceramic filling, then two to three weeks later the crown would be put on the tooth on the second visit. However, CEREC technology aims to eliminate the need for multiple steps and can allow patients to have crowns in one visit.
